Japanese Mint

The Japanese mint plant, Mentha arvensis, is a species of mint native to both North America and eastern Asia. It has many uses and the leaves and stems of this perennial plant are steam distilled to produce Japanese Mint essential oil. Although it’s similar to Peppermint oil, Japanese Mint essential oil contains a higher percentage of the chemical constituent menthol, giving it a more potent, minty aroma. For this reason, Japanese Mint is often the ingredient of choice in many commercial lozenges. From sweet treats to savoury dishes, infuse recipes with the qualities and flavour of Japanese Mint for a refreshing taste with every bite.

Copaiba

Copaiba essential oil comes from a fragrant tropical tree native to South America. Since the 16th century, copaiba essential oil has been utilised in traditional health practices by the natives of north and northeastern Brazil. Copaiba oil is widely used in cosmetic products including soaps, creams, lotions, and perfumes because of its ability to soothe the skin. Apply topically combined with a carrier oil or a facial moisturiser to help support healthy-looking skin.

Bergamot Mint

Bergamot Mint essential oil comes from a flowering, perennial herb with violet flowers and heart-shaped leaves. Despite the name, Bergamot Mint is not related to the bergamot fruit in any way. Similar to Lavender, Bergamot Mint’s major constituents are linalool and linalyl acetate. Perfect for adding to Fractionated Coconut Oil for a comforting and soothing after-workout massage. Bergamot Mint’s lavender-like and minty aroma complements a warm, relaxing bath.

Tea Tree

Tea Tree essential oil – often referred to as "Melaleuca" essential oil – has over 92 different compounds and amazing topical applications. The leaves of the Tea Tree were used by the Aborigines of Australia for centuries. They would crush the leaves and apply directly to the skin for a cooling effect. Tea Tree is best known for its purifying properties. It can be used to cleanse and purify the skin and nails and to support a healthy complexion. doTERRA Tea Tree can be applied to occasional skin irritations and to soothe the skin.

Blue Tansy

Blue Tansy, also referred to as Moroccan Tansy, is an annual yellow-flowered Mediterranean plant found in northern Morocco. This Tansy flower has a chemical makeup your skin will crave! Chamazulene, a chemical component in Blue Tansy, gives it its characteristic indigo colour. This essential oil is also known to benefit the skin. Add to a hot bath, use with your favourite skin care products or simply massage into skin!

Star Anise

Star anise is an evergreen tree indigenous to southeastern Asia. Usually the trees grow only 4-6 metres high, but they can reach up to 20 metres. In Chinese culture, the plant is called “eight-horned anise” or simply “eight horns,” referring to the fruit which usually has eight follicles. Anethole, the main chemical component of Star Anise, is what creates the characteristic licorice aroma that Star Anise essential oil and fruit are known for. As a main ingredient in doTERRA ZenGest™, Star Anise can be beneficial for stomach discomfort when used topically.
